Introducing Breakout Hunter - an indicator based on Wyckoff's Theory

Wyckoff's Theory stands as one of the most robust and enduring theories in trading.

Wyckoff's Theory encompasses many aspects, with the most important being the concepts of Distribution and Accumulation. Before prices rise, the market must go through an accumulation phase, and before prices fall, it must go through a distribution phase. These are the moments when buyers absorb sellers to push prices up, or sellers absorb buyers to push prices down.

Based on this long-standing theory, we developed Breakout Hunter with the desire to bring these benefits to your trading journey.

What Breakout Hunter offers

1. Absorption Zones

Identifying Absorption Zones not only alerts you not to trade to limit risk, but also relieves feelings of frustration, anxiety, or impatience when the market is going sideways or lacks clear movement.

One of this indicator’s highlights is its ability to continuously pinpoint Absorption Zones after upward and downward candles. This feature helps you assess the reliability of the previous price movements and sets the premise for breakouts that signal the price markup or markdown.

2. Reliable breakout signals

  • When the price breaks out of the accumulation zone, it is likely to enter a Markup period (uptrend), and the indicator will generate a breakout signal.
  • When the price breaks out of the distribution zone, it is likely to enter a Markdown period (downtrend), and the indicator will generate a breakout signal.

3. Determining the time to trade

With an easy-to-use and very intuitive interface, the Absorption Zones regularly provided by the indicator suggest when to prepare for entries, while also opening up more opportunities to trade from short-term to long-term. 

4. Suitable for various trading styles

This product is particularly suitable for those using breakout trading, range-bound trading, scalpers, or even when you’re new to the market but haven’t yet found your own trading strategy. 

How Breakout Hunter generates signals

For the price to rise or fall further, the price needs to go through an accumulation or distribution period. Based on this mechanism, the indicator offers reliable signals through 3 steps:

  • Step 1: Identify the number of consecutive bullish/bearish candles (which is fully customizable and you can define it yourself).
  • Step 2: Identify the accumulation or distribution periods after the price has changed.
  • Step 3: Provide a breakout signal when the price successfully absorbs and breaks out of the accumulation or distribution zones.

The indicator also offers 2 modes:

  • The 1st mode only suggests signals if the accumulation and distribution zones are successful.
Mode_1
  • The 2nd mode allows the indicator to suggest signals even if the accumulation and distribution zones fail.
Mode_2

If you prefer trend-following, the first mode is the right choice for you. If you prefer to capture reversals based on price action, you can opt for the second mode. These ways are designed to help you trade when the price breaks out in any direction, offering more flexible trading opportunities.

In conclusion, Breakout Hunter brings another trading edge based on Wyckoff's Theory of accumulation and distribution, hence giving you reliable signals for entries.
