ninZa.co succeeded in bringing this awesome trading weapon from the MetaTrader world to NinjaTrader 8.

HAMA Monster is a powerful application of Heiken Ashi on moving averages of prices. It paints a new series of bars that are classified into uptrend or downtrend. Signals produced by this indicator are extremely simple yet effective:

  • When the trend shifts from down to up, you get a possible buy opportunity (go long or exit short).
  • When the trend shifts from up to down, you get a possible sell opportunity (go short or exit long).

You have full control over how to build HAMA Monster bars with user-defined MA type, period, and smoothing options.

Key features:
  • Paint a new series of bars to interpret trend phases of the market
  • Allow defining moving averages (with
    )
  • Allow smoothing moving averages
  • Allow adjusting bar colors and optionally showing/hiding bar wicks
  • Paint the background to clearly show uptrend vs downtrend
  • Colorize bars based on 2 phases: uptrend, downtrend
  • Trigger alerts on trend shift
  • Print markers on trend shift
  • Be NinjaScript ready for advanced usage, only restricted by your imagination
  • Expose dedicated NinjaScript signals
Dedicated NinjaScript signals:
  • Signal_Trend: 1 = uptrend, -1 = downtrend

  • 01 Jun 2022 - "Heiken-Ashi Open Weight" and "Crossover Offset" were added.
  • 27 Aug 2020 - An issue with the transparent outline of HAMA bars was fixed.
  • 24 Aug 2020 - Massive changes, fixes, and improvements were made (DPI, display name, Z order, alert properties, marker string, bar painting, chart info, property naming/positioning/grouping); alert popup was visually enhanced; all plot values were rounded to the nearest tick size.
  • 22 Jul 2019 - Sound selector was fixed.
  • 08 Apr 2019 - Background painting was added.
  • 13 Feb 2019 - The licensing system was critically upgraded.
  • 28 Nov 2018 - The indicator was released (built new).
