The filter parameters also enable you to set the minimum change required for the moving average to rise or fall. If the change is below this threshold, the moving average remains flat and does not alter its direction.

  • A downtrend is identified when the moving average line slopes downward.
  • An uptrend is identified when the moving average line slopes upward.
