This is a classic indicator remade by ninZa.co. Our version allows you to choose from 10 popular moving average types for the middle band and offset calculations. The offset can be based on bar spread (high-low range) which is the same as NinjaTrader's built-in Keltner indicator or can be based on ninZaATR unit.

In this indicator, ninZaATR is used (instead of regular ATR) for better performance. For your information, ninZaATR is ninZa.co's special ATR version that helps improve indicator performance significantly on intraday charts. It is also a standalone FREE indicator for ninZaFamily → https://ninza.co/product/ninzaatr.

  • Plot the traditional Keltner channel
  • Allow choosing any of
    for the calculation of middle band
  • Allow smoothing the middle band (with

  • Allow calculating the offset based on bar spread or ninZaATR
  • Allow colorizing the bands based on slope
  • Allow painting the region between upper band and lower band (with 2 different colors for upper part & lower part)
  • Trigger alerts on Keltner channel breakout
  • Print markers on Keltner channel breakout
  • Colorize bars on Keltner channel breakout
  • Be NinjaScript ready for advanced usage, only restricted by your imagination
  • Expose dedicated NinjaScript signals
Dedicated NinjaScript signals:
  • Signal_State: 1 = above upper band, -1 = below lower band, 0 = inside

Software Changelog

  • 31 May 2021 - Regular ATR was replaced with ninZaATR for better performance; massive changes, fixes and improvements were made (DPI, display name, Z order, alert properties, marker string, bar painting, chart info, property naming/positioning/grouping); all plot values were rounded to the nearest tick size.
  • 23 Jul 2019 - Sound selector was fixed.
  • 25 Mar 2019 - The indicator was released (built new).
