NVI Colorized 4U (Negative Volume Index) is our free indicator that helps you identify periods of low-volume market activity.

When liquidity decreases, prices tend to fluctuate within a narrow range. The indicator works by tracking price changes corresponding to trading volume.

Specifically, on low-volume days:

  • When prices rise, NVI rises accordingly.
  • Conversely, when prices fall, NVI also falls.

This allows you to recognize potential trends during periods of low market volatility.

For an enhanced trading experience, you can consider NVI Pro (the "Pro" version of this indicator), which comes with a smoothed moving average, along with visual support features such as colorization, background painting, marker printing, and alerts via popup, sound, email, and SMS.

This is my story, I ordered the Day Range indicator for NIFTY India. To my dismay, it didn't work well as it calculated ranges in ticks. I asked Larry Pi if there was a workaround, and he created a new version with all the choices for range unit: points, ticks, pips. He was with me all through the process, with very short turnaround cycles. So don't hesitate at all to pick what you want! You won't regret.
