Global Zlert v2 – NinjaTrader Price Alert for key Levels and Zones

Global Zlert v2 is a state-aware NinjaTrader price alert designed to notify traders when price breaks or returns to predefined levels and zones.

Unlike standard alerts that trigger once and stop, it continuously monitors price movement across these structural boundaries. Alerts are generated whenever price moves between inside and outside states.

How the NinjaTrader price alert works

When Global Zlert v2 is applied to a chart, 2 adjustable boundaries – an Upper Level and a Lower Level – automatically appear. These levels can be freely dragged on the chart to define the area you want to monitor.

With the Zone Height (tick) parameter, the NinjaTrader price alert can expand from monitoring simple upper and lower levels to tracking defined price zones.

The alert behavior can then be configured using 3 monitoring modes:

• Break: Triggers when price breaks beyond a defined level or zone
• Return: Triggers when price moves back into the defined area
• Both: Monitors and alerts for both break and return events

2 ways to monitor: Levels and Zones

1. Monitoring Key Levels (Break & Return)

First, you define an Upper Level and a Lower Level. When price trades between the 2 levels, the NinjaTrader price alert becomes active and begins monitoring for breakouts beyond the boundaries and returns back into the range.

Alerts are triggered when:

• Price breaks above the upper level
• Price breaks below the lower level
• Price returns back inside the range

The tool continuously tracks the cycle: Inside → Break → Return → Break → Return

Each transition generates a new alert, without requiring manual re-arming. This approach is particularly suited for:

• Breakout trading
• Failed breakout detection
• Liquidity sweep monitoring
• Range-bound setups

2. Monitoring Zones (Entry & Exit)

When structural zones such as supply/demand areas, support/resistance regions, or other key upper and lower zones are already defined, the NinjaTrader price alert can monitor how price interacts with those areas.

Alerts are triggered when price:

• Enters a zone
• Exits a zone
• Re-enters after leaving
• Exits again

Rather than triggering a single alert when price first touches the area, the tool continues tracking the interaction cycle as price moves in and out of the zone.

This allows you to stay informed about ongoing activity around important structural regions without continuously watching the chart.

Calculate modes in the NinjaTrader Price Alert 

Global Zlert v2 supports all 3 NinjaTrader calculate modes:

• OnBarClose: Alert triggers after candle close. Suitable for confirmed breakouts.
• OnPriceChange: Intra-bar alerts triggered only when price changes. Reduces repeated execution when price is unchanged.
• OnEachTick: Maximum sensitivity. Logic runs on every tick and may trigger multiple times per bar if not controlled.

The selected Calculate mode directly affects alert timing and breakout precision.
