FELIX2 gives you a defined trend-following process without having to build entry rules and trading parameters from scratch.
Beyond the four-indicator framework, it provides a detailed, tested NQ futures configuration for a 2-minute chart and an alternative tested setup. These give you a concrete starting point to evaluate the trading rules, understand how the process works, and refine specific parameters without having to build the entire approach on your own.
Key highlights
- Defined entry rules: Specific long and short conditions for all four indicators, including the exact parameters and signal thresholds.
- Detailed tested configuration: Antonino Venuto's NQ futures setup for a 2-minute chart, with trading hours, pause periods, stop loss, profit target, and session-close exit rules.
- Alternative tested configuration: A separate setup using a 170-tick stop loss and 120-tick profit target, with its own historical performance data.
- Historical performance metrics: Detailed backtest figures covering net profit, profit factor, maximum drawdown, win rate, average trade, and total trades.
Wait for the conditions, not just the direction.
A market can be trending upward, but that alone does not tell you whether momentum is strong enough to support a long entry or whether the timing is right.
Enter too early, and the move may lack the momentum confirmation you need. Wait for confirmation without a defined trigger, and entry decisions can become inconsistent.
FELIX2 separates these decisions 4 stages:
- Trend direction: Establish the primary directional bias.
- Momentum strength: Assess whether momentum supports that direction.
- Momentum direction: Confirm that momentum aligns with the established trend.
- Entry trigger: Wait for the specific condition that activates an entry.
A position is opened only when all four conditions align. Each indicator contributes a distinct piece of information, creating a defined sequence from trend assessment to entry.
Four indicators. One defined process.
1. SMA Colorized 4U – Trend direction
A colorized simple moving average makes changes in trend direction easier to recognize. Within FELIX2, SMA Colorized 4U establishes the primary directional bias before shorter-term momentum conditions are evaluated.
2. Superior RSI – Momentum strength
Superior RSI extends the classic RSI with 11 moving-average smoothing options. In FELIX2, it assesses momentum strength relative to the established trend, with readings above 50 supporting long setups and readings below 50 supporting short setups.
3. CCI Trend Pro – Momentum direction
CCI Trend Pro adds a separate directional momentum reading. FELIX2 uses the zero line as its reference: positive CCI readings support long setups, while negative readings support short setups.
4. Superior MACD – Entry timing
Superior MACD provides the final entry trigger. A long entry requires the MACD line to be above zero while the Difference line crosses above zero. A short entry requires the MACD line to be below zero while the Difference line crosses below zero.
This keeps entry timing separate from the earlier decisions that establish and confirm the trading direction.
Antonino Venuto's tested configuration
The four-stage framework defines the logic. Antonino Venuto's tested configuration shows how that logic is translated into specific trading rules.
Primary configuration: 130-Tick Stop Loss
The configuration was tested on NQ futures using a 2-minute chart, with defined indicator parameters, long and short conditions, trading-hour filters, and exit settings.
Exact entry conditions
| Stage | Indicator | Long Condition | Short Condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trend direction | SMA Colorized 4U, period 105 | Trend Signal = 1 | Trend Signal = -1 |
| Momentum strength | Superior RSI, period 14, Smooth 3 | RSI > 50 | RSI < 50 |
| Momentum direction | CCI Trend Pro, period 14 | CCI > 0 | CCI < 0 |
| Entry trigger | Superior MACD, 12 / 26 / 9 | MACD > 0 and Difference crosses above 0 | MACD < 0 and Difference crosses below 0 |
CCI mathematical constant: 0.015.
A position is opened only when all four conditions align in the same direction.
Primary Exit and Time Settings
| Setting | Tested Value |
|---|---|
| Market | NQ futures |
| Chart timeframe | 2 minutes |
| Stop loss | 130 ticks |
| Profit target | 120 ticks |
| Start time | 6:30 PM EST |
| End time | 4:00 PM EST |
| Trading pause | 6:30 AM–10:00 AM EST |
| Session-close exit | 30 seconds before close |
The tested schedule begins after the initial Globex-open volatility, pauses during the European morning and U.S. pre-market period identified in testing, and resumes after U.S. open volatility begins to settle.
These settings describe Antonino's tested configuration, not a universal schedule for every market or trading style.
Alternative configuration: 170-Tick Stop Loss
FELIX2 also includes an alternative configuration using a 170-tick stop loss and a 120-tick profit target. Antonino tested this wider-stop setup for traders who can accommodate larger equity swings and want to evaluate a configuration with higher historical absolute profit.
The alternative setup produced the following historical results on NQ futures using a 2-minute chart.
| Performance Metric | Historical Result |
|---|---|
| Total net profit | $111,275.80 |
| Profit factor | 1.22 |
| Maximum drawdown | $12,288.88 |
| Win rate | 62.75% |
| Total trades | 1,670 |
| Average trade | $66.63 |
| Net profit / maximum drawdown | Approximately 9.1× |
These figures apply to the alternative tested configuration. They should not be interpreted as the expected performance of the primary configuration or of every possible FELIX2 setup.
Changing the market, timeframe, indicator parameters, filters, stop loss, or profit target creates a different configuration that requires separate validation.
