His version goes “Keep doing what you’ve always done, and you’ll keep getting what you’ve already got.”. The words may vary slightly, however the idea is the same. Here’s what it means in trading, and what its missing! The mindset strategies, the thinking approaches, and overall methodologies you’ve applied so far in your trading, have produced the outcome you now have. To go one step farther, that thinking only locks you in to more of the exact same... Even your methods of improving -- the approach that you apply to get better results -- falls under this guiding principle. Here's what I mean, following the formula; thinking creates emotions, which create actions, which turn into results. So thinking, emotions, actions, results. In simpler words thinking dictates your results. On the other hand, if what you’re already doing is working well, you just need to find ways to continue optimizing your thinking by removing small barriers, therefore creating incrementally better gains.
