Many indicators labelled as multi-timeframe don’t actually operate across multiple timeframes in a meaningful way.
They usually do one of 2 things:
- compare 2 timeframes
- or follow trend direction across charts
That’s not true multi-timeframe logic. It’s just cross-timeframe referencing.
What real multi-timeframe logic requires
A true multi-timeframe logic requires something deeper:
- multiple timeframes interacting
- each timeframe having its own conditions
- those conditions being aggregated into one final decision logic

Each setup passes through distinct layers of validation before a signal is allowed to appear.
Intra-Timeframe Consensus Layer
Alignment within each timeframe
Before comparing timeframes, the indicator first checks internal agreement inside each timeframe. Within each timeframe:
- Multiple indicators must agree within each TF
- If consensus is missing → that timeframe is invalid
Each timeframe must pass its own internal confirmation before moving to the next layer.
This removes noise at the source.
And because DeepStack Confluence allows unlimited indicator inputs per timeframe, you can define the depth of consensus you want.
Inter-Timeframe Alignment Layer
Alignment across timeframes
Once each timeframe has internal consensus, the indicator checks whether those timeframes align with each other.
Up to 5 different timeframes can participate in this process.
For example:
- Higher timeframe confirms trend
- Mid timeframe confirms structure
- Lower timeframe confirms entry condition

Final signal activation
A trade signal is triggered only when both conditions are met:
- intra-timeframe consensus is achieved
(all indicators within each timeframe are aligned) - inter-timeframe alignment is confirmed
(all selected timeframes are aligned with each other)
Only then does DeepStack Confluence generate a Buy/Sell signal.
